Local DNS domain added to block domains and then permitted

Expected Behaviour:

Pi-hole is used as the local DNS server and DHCP server. Everything works as intended and domains which are blacklisted are effectively blocked.

Actual Behaviour:

However I noticed on the top permitted list that blocked domains were showing up with the addition of my chosen local domain name (which is .home). In the screenshot you can see that app.measurement.com is blocked, but that it also shows up in my permitted list as app.measurement.com.home.

The DNS server hands out a NXDOMAIN reply to the "blocked domain + .home" entries.

Several blocked domains have been showing up in the permitted list this way. When I ping the "blocked domain + .home" it doesn't get resolved. I have no idea what is going on as my understanding of how DNS works is limited but I think this is probably odd behaviour because I did something wrong while setting up the DNS server.

What you observe is normal, nothing to worry about.

I will not worry thanks to you Bucking_Horn. :upside_down_face:
