IoT and Pi-Hole

I've been running Pi-Hole for some time on my network but am wondering, with the popularity of wifi plugs, bulbs and smart speakers is Pi-Hole helpful, detrimental or neutral to IoT devices?

I could create a vlan for Pi-Hole protected access and just leave the rest of the network to normal DNS activity, is this a decent option?

Geoff

I have created two IoT VLAN's on my network. One if for known trusted devices and the other is for devices that don't behave and has very restrictive rules. I poked holes in the policy of these networks to force the use the Pi-hole since many IoT devices hard code 8.8.8.8 or other DNS servers into their firmware.
