Have to update packages for unbound to work

My setup

I am running pihole on a raspberry pi 4 2 gb with raspbian buster and it's using unbound for upstream dns.

The problem

The problem is that everytime I turn off the rpi for a few days I have to update the packages (sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade) for unbound to work.

Today I updated the packages and the only packages that got updated are:

 libgssapi-krb5-2 libk5crypto3 libkrb5-3 libkrb5support0 libldap-2.4-2 libldap-common

I manually downloaded the root hints and I changed the unbound port to 5353 (instead of 5335)

This has been happening for a few weeks and I have to change my dns to cloudflare to be able to update, I would like to keep using unbound.

Why are you turning off your DNS resolver? And how are you turning it off?

I am testing pihole and don't have the need to run it 24/7. to shut it down I run sudo shutdown -h now
