# DNS server failure after latest update

## Expected Behaviour:

The DNS server working after latest upgrade.

- Raspbian 13
- Raspberry Pi

## Actual Behaviour:

The DNS server in the GUI says it has failed in red letters, and indeed it does not work.

Pi-hole should use port 53, but this port is already in use:

```auto
2026-05-13 18:51:42.625 MDT [2688M] CRIT: Error in dnsmasq configuration: failed to create listening socket for port 53: Address in use

```
