Also this is output from netstat - dont know if that helps.

I ended up with flushing my iptables totally, and now it works... some rule was blocking it I guess...
Now for a more "simple" firewall.

Maybe I have missed something here, but
alone might just have been insufficient. Note that you also need to configure that the Pi-hole can actually reply to your clients (proper OUT rules).
