Clicking in Pi-Hole admin page stops DNS server

Hello,

New user to Pi-Hole and not well versed in Linux so please bear with me.

I set up my Pi-Hole using a VM running Debian 9 as host for Pi-Hole. All works fine. Just one curious thing is when I click on any of the selections in the left hand side of the Pi-Hole admin page such as "Query Log" or "Whitelist" the status of the DNS server shows the DNS Server not running. Is this the way it is supposed to behave? I then click "Enable" and it starts up and runs until I click on something else in the admin page.

Thanks ahead of time.

Debian 9 stopped including the net-tools package by default, so you will have to install that to make the status work correctly.

Mcat12,

Awesome. That did the trick. Thank you for your quick reply.
