# Add SSL to Your Pi-hole WebUI on VM – A Simple Script for New Users

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this isn’t the perfect place for this topic, but I wanted to share something that might help others!

As a new Pi-hole user running it on a VM, I struggled to add SSL to the WebUI. After spending quite a bit of time reading through discussions here and testing different approaches, I decided to simplify the process. I created a straightforward script to enable SSL for your Pi-hole instance on a VM.

It worked for my instance, hopefully does for yours too.

I hope this can save someone the hassle. If you’re in a similar situation, feel free to give it a try. Feedback is always welcome!

Just a note:

Pi-hole v6 web interface will have [HTTPS support](https://discourse.pi-hole.net/t/pi-hole-v6-beta-testing/65413#SSL) and it will also provide its own self-signed certificate if none is provided.
